Council to approve $25,000 Economic Development Roadmap budget amendment

The Council will consider a staff report to amend the Fire Equipment and Personnel Deployment Policy. It will vote on a $25,000 budget amendment to fund the Clearwater Economic Development Roadmap project using a confirmed ETSI‑BC grant. The Council will issue Development Permit DP‑26‑02 for 447 Eden Road. It will give first, second and third readings of Bylaw No. 338 (utility service calls and connections fees) and of Water Utility Bylaw No. 339 and Sanitary Sewer Utility Bylaw No. 340, directing the latter two to be adopted at the next meeting.

Council to consider short‑term rental bylaws, grant applications and community funding

Council will adopt the Short‑Term Rental Regulations and Enforcement Amendment Bylaw No. 333, 2026 and the Public Notice Bylaw No. 334, 2026, reading each for the first, second and third times, and will adopt the Short‑Term Rental Temporary Use Permit Policy. The council will consider a FireSmart Community Funding application to the Union of BC Municipalities for up to $200,000. It will allocate $500 to the Rotary Club of Clearwater for the May Day parade and $2,000 to the Wells Gray Search and Rescue Society for a rope‑exercise, from the 2026 Community Grant budget. The council will also introduce the 2026‑2030 Five‑Year Financial Plan Bylaw No. 332, 2026 and receive a notice of motion to study development cost charge options.

The council will consider and recommend issuing Cannabis Retail Licence CL-25-01 for the site at Unit C, 343 Clearwater Valley Road. It will adopt financial allocations moving $130,000 to the Financial Stability Reserve, $60,000 to the Roads Capital Reserve, and re‑allocate $135,000 from the Fire Capital Reserve. The council will also adopt amendments to Official Community Plan Bylaw No. 331 and adopt Bylaw No. 330 for the 2025‑2029 financial plan. Additionally, the council will postpone the Clearwater Canoe Regatta to 2027.
