Council to hear governance study and approve mobile outreach van contract

Haliburton County Council will receive a presentation on the Community Affordability Governance Structure Study, which examines four governance models for the County and its four local municipalities. The Council will also consider approving a staff report and by-law to award a contract to RUNASO for the purchase and upfitting of a Mobile Outreach Van, funded through the Emergency Treatment Fund agreement.

The Land Division Committee will consider three applications for consent. These include an easement to formalize a shared driveway at 1343 True North Road, a request to cancel two existing consents on Loop Road, and a lot addition on Dies Trail. The committee will also vote to approve the minutes from its July 13, 2026 meeting.

Haliburton County Council will vote on by-laws authorizing the purchase of two 2026 pickup trucks from Fraser Ford Sales Limited and an agreement with GIP Paving Inc. for the 2026 hot‑mix road rehabilitation project on County Road 3 (Glamorgan Rd.) and Eagle Lake Patrol Yard 2. The council will also approve a $18,317 purchase of VMware vSphere Foundation licensing for 2026, using $10,442 from the IT reserve to offset costs. Haliburton County approves 2026 budget and tax rates

Haliburton County Council will consider adopting the 2026 budget, property tax rates, and borrowing by-law. The meeting also includes the approval of the 2026 tax ratios and the renewal of employee benefits.

S.O. 2001, as amended, hereinafter referred to as The Act, states that in part that at any time during the fiscal year, a municipality may authorize the temporary borrowing, until the taxes are collected and other revenues are received, of the amounts that the municipality considers necessary to meet the current expenditures of the municipality for the year, including amounts required in the year for: Whereas Section 407 (1) of the Municipal Act.
