We would also like to acknowledge the North Channel Métis Council. We say miigwetch to thank Indigenous peoples for taking care of this land from time memorial. We are called to treat this sacred land, its plants, animals, stories, and its peoples with honour and respect. We commit to the shared goal of truth and reconciliation. Council Meeting
Council to set interim tax rate and approve 2026 pre-budget items
Council will consider several by-laws, including the 2026 interim tax rate and temporary borrowing. It will also discuss pre-budget approvals for capital projects such as a fire hall generator, museum-marina roof replacement, and playground toys. A vendor selection for alternative voting methods in the 2026 municipal election is on the agenda.
