Council approved $1,559,061 for the purchase of three new snowplow/salter units, funded from the Municipal Fleet Reserve. All items from the postponed March 23 meeting were resolved. The consent agenda containing various board minutes and contract awards was approved.

Combined Council Meeting

A motion will be considered to bring high‑speed fibre internet to Ridgetown.

It also approved consent applications and zoning amendments for properties on Maynard Line in Harwich and Merritt Line in Chatham, each by a 17‑to‑0 vote. An application for 12209 Beechwood Line was postponed to the April 27 2026 meeting, and a zoning amendment for 135 Semenyn Avenue was rejected by a 15‑to‑0 vote.

Board of Health

The Chatham-Kent Board of Health will meet to approve the Chatham-Kent Food Policy Council membership and review Infection Prevention and Control Hub funding. The agenda also includes receiving updates on food affordability and various health unit resolutions.

The Board approved appointing two new members to the Chatham‑Kent Food Policy Council. It also approved hiring a permanent 1.0 FTE public health nurse to support the Infection Prevention and Control Hub. Minutes from the Food Policy Council meetings (May, September, November 2025) were approved, and a motion was approved to have the Council bring a Notice of Motion on Bill S‑206 to the municipal council. The Board supported Councillor Carmen McGregor’s nomination to the alPHa Board of Directors.
