Council unanimously approved several operational items, including a $15,382,941.00 utilities design-build contract that will fund local water and sewer system upgrades. The council also secured the 2026/2027 BC Transit operating agreement to maintain conventional and custom bus services through March 2027. Housekeeping amendments to the Official Community Plan advanced to second reading ahead of a July public hearing, while staff were directed to forward an agricultural land application with support. Council gave third reading to a zoning amendment that rezones 46544 Seaholm Crescent from duplex to urban infill and small-lot residential. Council approves $370,000 asphalt purchase for 2026 operations paving

The council will adopt the minutes from the January 20 meeting and receive quarterly departmental reports. It will approve major equipment purchases, including a utility service truck for $361,325.85 and a stationary generator for $92,100. The council will also adopt a $370,000 purchase order for asphalt supply and consider several zoning bylaw amendments and recreation funding requests.

Council voted unanimously to rescind Policy Directive No. G‑32 “Infill Development” and Policy Directive No. G‑34 “Industrial Land”. The council also approved multiple zoning bylaw amendments, including first, second and third readings for properties on Bonavista Street, Strathcona Road, Edward Street, Hodgins Avenue, and Venture Place. Additional actions included approving a $92,100 generator purchase, a $361,325.85 utility service truck, and funding for the Chilliwack Flight Fest ($12,000) and Mural Festival ($7,500).

Council approves $1.45 M squash court expansion at Landing Leisure Centre

The council adopted minutes from the January 6 meeting and approved two zoning bylaw amendments. It awarded several procurement contracts, including a $1,448,744 squash court expansion at the Landing Leisure Centre. Council unanimously approved several capital contracts, including a $501,020 Jesperson Road culvert replacement, a $523,828.68 street sweeper, two wheel loaders for $453,670, and a $1,448,744 squash‑court expansion at the Landing Leisure Centre. They also appointed election officers, approved $59,800 for the Downtown Cleanup Peer Employment Program, and, after amending the motion, approved a temporary use permit for four chickens at 45236 Redwood Avenue. All other items, such as the adoption of zoning bylaws and receipt of reports, were carried unanimously.

Council to rezone two School Street properties to mid‑rise apartment commercial

At the regular council meeting, members will adopt the minutes from December 2025 meetings and approve the 2026 Financial Plan Bylaw. They will award a $38.75 per infield contract for Ball Diamond grooming and consider several zoning bylaw amendments, including rezoning two School Street parcels to a C9 mid‑rise apartment commercial zone and other residential rezoning changes.
