Council Public Planning Meeting

Council holds public hearings on three zoning and subdivision applications

King Township Council will hold a public planning meeting to hear comments on three development proposals. The applications include a zoning by-law amendment and draft plan of subdivision at 5885-5905 King Road, a zoning by-law amendment at 12739 Keele Street and 19 Patricia Drive, and a revised draft plan of subdivision and zoning by-law amendment at 13450-13500 Highway 27. All three items are being referred back to staff for further review, with no final decision expected tonight. A future public meeting on development charges is also noticed for May 11, 2026.

The council approved several by‑laws, including a traffic amendment and a lot‑control exemption, and authorized the installation of all‑way stop signs at three intersections. King Township Council will consider a zoning by-law amendment to rezone 24 Banner Lane from R1C to CAK-23 (Core Area King City exception). A presentation on the draft Age Friendly Community Action Plan and the 2025 Drinking Water Annual Summary Report will be received. A member motion urges the province to engage stakeholders before consolidating Ontario's conservation authorities.
