✓ Décisions: Council defers Community Planning Permit System until after 2026 election
Council deferred consideration of the proposed Community Planning Permit System (CPPS) and its associated Official Plan amendment until after the 2026 Municipal Election. The decision followed a public meeting where numerous residents opposed the proposal, citing concerns about heritage, community character, and reduced public input. Council also approved a draft plan of subdivision and zoning amendment for a mixed-use development at Waterloo Street and Devonshire Road, and adopted by-laws for the Southampton Two-Zone floodplain management concept and the assumption of services for Northport Meadows Phase 1.
- Deferred Local Official Plan Amendment L-2026-008 and Community Planning Permit By-law Z-2026-038 until after the 2026 Municipal Election.
- Approved a request to the County of Bruce to approve Draft Plan of Subdivision S-2024-002 (Lord Elgin Estates) and approved Zoning By-law Amendment Z-2026-023 (By-law 74-2026).
- Adopted By-law 61-2026 (Local Official Plan Amendment L-2025-018) and approved By-law 62-2026 (Zoning By-law Amendment Z-2025-062) for the Southampton Two-Zone floodplain management concept.
- Adopted By-law 75-2026 to assume services and establish roads as public highways for Phase 1 of the Northport Meadows Subdivision.
- Adopted the minutes of the Regular Council Meetings of June 15 and June 22, 2026.
- Received for information Site Plan Control Applications SP-2026-008 (5094 Highway 21), SP-2026-009 (300 Railway Street), and SP-2026-010 (34 Huron Street South).
- Adopted By-law 76-2026 to confirm the proceedings of the July 13, 2026 Council meeting.
