Thank you. Williams would have loved to have been here today to make this presentation himself. However, he is on a well-deserved vacation down in the U.S. In late 2024, Fire Chief Williams put out the call for assistance with setting up a much-needed warming center for some of the vulnerable in our community. He was very pleased to be immediately contacted by Graham Gessler, who offered the amazing space at the Faith Missionary Church on River Road West. In partnership with the town, with the church and the county of Simcoe, Chief Williams was able to develop the warming center into a well-oiled machine that we had this past winter. I am pleased to bring some of the important volunteers from the church before council today to be recognized for their outstanding work in supporting the warming center last season. They are Brian and Claudia Weatherall, Sylvia DeRoche, Deb Hayward, Dorothy Howell, Graham Gessler, Bruce and Rose anne Gregg, Bevin Keith-Dom, Lillian Cunham, Edna Langman, Mary John Luke and Juliet Koba, Cecile Hoff man and Kathy Berry. Your Worship, with your permission, after your comments, I would like to invite the group up to the front for a picture with yourself and council. Thank you. Thank you very much, Deputy Chief, and absolutely be delighted to do that and present them with a plaque. So thank you very much, Deputy Chief Bell. And on behalf of council in the town of Wasaga Beach, I'd like to take a moment to recognize and thank these very special voluntee …

Land Acknowledgement
The Town of Wasaga Beach acknowledges it is located upon the traditional territory of the Anishnaabe people of the Three Fires Confederacy. We also acknowledge that the people of the Wyandot Nation also inhabited these lands.
We acknowledge that these nations were sovereign nations existing before the arrival of settlers.
We respect the spiritual interconnection among these nations to the land and to the water.
We also acknowledge that waterways near us have a long history predating European arrival. Since time immemorial, waterways were the lifeblood of the Indigenous people by trade and hunting routes.
We are dedicated to inclusivity of First Nations, Inuit and Metis people in our future stewardship of the land and the longest freshwater beach in the world. In the spirit of reconciliation, we welcome the opportunity of learning to be sustainable caretakers of the land and waterways for all future generation …
