Finance Committee
The Finance Committee is reviewing the draft 2022-2026 Financial Plan, the 2022 Library budget request, and a progress report on the Consolidated Wastewater Treatment Plant. It is also considering a new Air Passenger Fee Bylaw for the Powell Lake Seaplane Base and an amendment to a wastewater treatment plant loan authorization bylaw. Most items are reports for discussion; the Air Passenger Fee Bylaw is recommended for first, second and third reading.

Regular Council Meeting
Powell River Council is considering a recommendation to build a new emergency services facility at the City Public Works Yard, with a referendum question proposed for the October 2022 municipal election and a design-build project manager procurement up to $7.5 million. Council will also decide whether to approve up to $125,000 from the Canada Community-Building Fund Reserve to replace the City's Seaplane Base floats on Powell Lake, and whether to not renew an automatic aid agreement with the Malaspina Volunteer Fire Department. Other items include two proposed resolutions to the Association of Vancouver Island and Coastal Communities on zero emissions buildings and a Clothesline Act, a withdrawn zoning amendment at 4034 Garibaldi Place, and bylaws on council procedure and active transportation.
