Thank you. And just, you know, Thank you. you know residents really understand in parallel uh it doesn't it doesn't ease the pain it doesn't help um the stress of of having to bring a contractor in and redo your house but in parallel i think communication is really important in education and i'm just wondering how do we get that how do we get out that to the to the general population through you madame mayor absolutely and i think it's a good question council i think we've started a little bit of that but to your point uh is it reaching everyone that it needs to reach to not everyone's going to local media not everyone is going to our website or other social media channels so i think some of it is really taking that old-fashioned approach and individually doing what we've started doing i know i've started doing reaching out to individuals one by one and i think carrying some of that message forward because you're right again people are in the crux of dealing with an emergency in their own homes they're not logging on to a website to look for information or they're not necessarily reading their local paper and so i think again some of that's going to be just the individual outreach that we do but i know dave and a number of his staff did work late and have continued to work late talking to residents specifically and i think all of you are messengers in that as well in terms of being able to share that information so if we need to equip you as well we will do that but i don't k …

Thank you. to build and develop that affordable housing. And not only is the goal to work on affordable housing, but it is that in perpetuity piece. It's what we are, and I'll see that in a slide in a couple of minutes. We're really a non-market housing developer. So the goal is to both build and to acquire, because rent evictions is also one of the other key things that's important in terms of maintaining affordability, making sure that there's land and buildings and housing in your community that are affordable. So not only do we build, but we also work on acquiring. And it's interesting to note that this is the most recent survey that we've got, I think it's from 2023, with about 47 community land trusts across Canada. Land trusts in Canada are really something that are emerging and have been emerging probably over the last four or five years. certainly more prevalent in the United States and the UK than they are in Canada. But I can tell you when I first started working and as I've been working with the community land trust, it's very reminiscent. I don't know if any of you recall when community foundations were being established in Canada . They were moving across the country as really something that was a new important piece of social and community infrastructure that were getting established. I remember because I was working with, we were working with Niagara, I was working with Niagara Credit Union at the time, who came in as one of the founding partners of the Niagar …
