Council adopts water & wastewater budget and new user fee schedule
The Town of Cochrane Council will read and pass three by‑laws: an agreement with Remi Papineau, the operating and capital water and wastewater budget for 2026, and a schedule of user fees and service charges. The meeting also includes a presentation from Eastlink about launching its mobile network in Cochrane on July 7. Le Conseil modifiera trois résolutions adoptées le 4 juin 2026, qui ont créé la Journée autochtone de Cochrane (21 juin), la Journée franco-cochranienne (24 juin) et la Journée anglo-cochranienne (25 juin) en tant que jours fériés volontaires. Regular Council
Council will adopt seven by-laws, including road sale and interim tax levy
The Town of Cochrane Council will read and pass a series of by-laws covering road allowance disposal, a new interim tax levy, and other municipal matters. It will also approve a $5,000 contribution to the Northern Corridor Chamber for the 2026 Business and Tourist Guide, and authorize additional design costs for the 5th Street Reconstruction project. Further decisions include leasing a new water and sewer emergency response vehicle and other policy updates.
- By‑Law 2026‑02: authorize stop‑up, closure, surplus declaration and sale of road allowance along Dora Lake shore and part of Block B on M386C
- By‑Law 2026‑08: provide for an interim tax levy and payment of interim taxes for 2026
- Approve $5,000 contribution to Northern Corridor Chamber for the 2026 Business and Tourist Guide
- Approve design scope changes for 5th Street Reconstruction, adding $164,028 plus HST
- Lease new Water & Sewer Emergency Response Vehicle (VN‑98) via Enterprise Fleet Management, funded from the operating budget
