Accessibility Advisory Committee
Council passes by‑law to create the Meaford Accessibility Advisory Committee
The Council of the Municipality of Meaford adopted By‑law 2024‑05, establishing a new Accessibility Advisory Committee. The by‑law also adopts the committee’s Terms of Reference and repeals By‑law 2015‑01. The committee will have up to seven voting members, with at least 50 % required to have a self‑identified disability, and will meet six times per year.

The Corporation of the Municipality of Meaford
By-law Number 2024-05
Being a by-law to establish an Accessibility Advisory
Committee
Whereas, Section 5 (3) of the Municipal Act, S.O. 2001, c.25 provides that
municipal power shall be exercised by by-law; and
Whereas, Section 11 of Act permits Council to pass by-laws regarding the
governance structure of the Municipality; and
Whereas, the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act requires that
municipalities with a population of over 10,000 must establish an
Accessibility Advisory Committee; and
Whereas, Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of Meaford deems it
expedient and necessary to establish an Accessibility Advisory Committee.
The Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of Meaford enacts
as follows:
1. That the Municipality of Meaford Accessibility Advisory Committee is
hereby established.
2. That the Accessibility Advisory Committee Terms of Reference,
attached hereto as Schedule A and forming part of this by-law, are
hereby adopted.
3. That By-law 2015-01 is hereby repealed.
4. That this by-law shall come into force and take effect upon being
passed by Council.
Read a first, second and third time and finally passed this 26th day
of February, 2024.

Being a by-law to establish an Accessibility Advisory
Committee

✓ Décisions: Board cuts appointee pay, sets new per diem rates
The Grey Bruce OPP Detachment Board approved a motion to reduce remuneration for Community and Provincial Appointees, setting a full-day per diem of $215.81 and a half-day per diem of $123.31, plus an hourly rate of $30.83 for the Chair for short sessions. Owen Sound North Grey Union Public Library Board
✓ Décisions: Library board approves new salary grid, retroactive to Jan 1, 2026
The Owen Sound & North Grey Union Public Library Board approved implementing a new salary grid developed by Gallagher Benefit Services Group, retroactive to January 1, 2026. The board also accepted the Adult Learning Centre's audited financial information for the year ended March 31, 2026, authorized a $16,388.39 transfer from the Contingency Fund to offset the Adult Learning Centre's 2025-2026 operating deficit, and approved moving $5,682.00 in 2025-2026 Ministry Funds to the 2026-2027 budget. The board acknowledged a $7,679.00 grant from the Community Foundation Grey Bruce and thanked the Mabel Richardson Foundation for a $1,205.20 donation. The minutes also note that the Carnegie Refresh Project work has been postponed from this fall to the new year.

✓ Décisions: Board approved hosting an All Candidate Debate on Oct. 7 at the community centre
The board approved hosting an All Candidate Debate on Wednesday, October 7 at 7 pm in the Bognor Community Centre, with the municipal clerk and Jeff Solomon to be contacted for logistics. It also approved a $500 storage cabinet for the sound system, a 50 % rental fee reduction for the weekly line‑dancing program in July and August when attendance is ten or fewer, and accepted the Treasurer’s report and other committee reports. The new activities logo was endorsed and the agenda was adopted with a new business item on ventures and opportunities.

Grey Sauble Conservation Authority Board
✓ Décisions: GSCA Board approves $5,000 reserve draw for capital overages
The Grey Sauble Conservation Authority Board approved an additional $5,000 draw from reserves to cover in-year capital expenses, including a shared drive-in shed and debris removal overage at Clendenan Dam. The Board also received the 2027 Draft Budget and directed staff to bring a final draft to the July 22, 2026 meeting for approval to circulate to municipalities. Additionally, the Board formally named several meeting rooms, including the Benthic ID Lab in honour of retiring Water Resources Coordinator John Bittorf.

Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at 1:15 p.m.
The Grey Sauble Conservation Authority (GSCA) Board of Directors’ meeting was held in a hybrid
format of in-person at the Grey Sauble Conservation Authority Administrative Office and virtually via
the meeting application, WebEx.

Call to Order
Chair Scott Greig called the meeting to order at 1:15 p.m., welcomed all those present in person back
to the newly renovated GSCA Administrative Centre. Thanks were extended to all those involved in
the renovation project, to Grey County for hosting the Board during construction, and to the staff for
their work and perseverance.
Member Mackey extended his thanks and congratulations to staff on the successful completion of the
project on behalf of the Board’s Building Ad-Hoc Committee and himself.
Chair Scott Greig provided a land acknowledgment.

✓ Décisions: Board approves 2025 annual report, directs funding formula review
The Grey Bruce OPP Detachment Board approved its 2025 annual report, which highlighted over 250 warrants executed, $575,000+ in drugs seized, and 242 impaired driving charges. The board directed staff to amend the procedure bylaw to address mid-term vacancies and attendance issues, and to bring back options for a new funding formula after a member raised fairness concerns about equal contributions from municipalities of different sizes.

Council to begin negotiations for a new OPP detachment on Highway 26 property
The Council will direct staff to enter formal discussions with the Ontario Provincial Police for a new detachment on the recently purchased Highway 26 commercial property. It will also approve the purchase of land at 76 Edwin Street for $600,000 and allocate $130,000 for capital upgrades to that site. Additional items include several contract awards for street reconstruction, tractor purchases, and resurfacing projects, as well as a recommendation to develop an Administrative Penalty System by‑law.
