The County of Lambton is holding a public information session on Monday, June 29, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. in the Town of Petrolia Council Chambers to present the draft plan of subdivision submitted by MI 673 Inc. for the Discovery Line property, which would create 147 single‑detached dwelling lots serviced by municipal water and sewer. A second session at 6:00 p.m. will review a draft plan by 1432324 Ontario Limited for the Glenview Estates property, proposing 44 similar lots. Residents may submit written or verbal comments on either proposal before the County proceeds with approval.

Public Information Meeting Concerning A Proposed Zoning By-Law Amendment - Planning and or Development
Proposition visant à augmenter le taux d'emprise au sol à 40 % pour les nouveaux lotissements

Council holds education session to receive departmental updates
The Town of Petrolia Council met on March 23, 2026 for an education session as required by Section 239 (3.1) of the Municipal Act. The meeting’s purpose is to provide training and information to members, and no council business or decisions are taken. Departmental updates were presented by Chief Administrative Officer Rick Charlebois and senior staff from Legislative Services, Planning & Development, Parks, Recreation & Facilities, Finance, Marketing, Arts & Communications, and Public Safety & Fire. Council to consider up to $500,000 for Victoria Hall renovation
The Town of Petrolia Council will adopt the agenda, review minutes from the February meeting, and receive several reports. Key decisions include authorizing the West Nile larvicide program, adopting an updated financial policy with a $130,000 reserve reallocation, and approving funding for the Victoria Hall renovation.
