Thank you. Williams Treaty's First Nations and other Indigenous peoples, and on behalf of myself and all members of Council, we would like to thank them for sharing this land. All members of Council are present. Perfect. Community announcements. While we've had a busy time, while we haven't had some meetings, it's been a very busy time in the town of Georgina. I just want to thank and acknowledge Sean Walker again for bringing the Stanley Cup home to Georgina, to the Ice Palace, the spot where he learned to skate and play hockey and was coached, and it was a fabulous day. It was really nice to talk to people that had coached Sean, that had him in hockey school, that whose kids played with him, that they followed his career. So it was really a lovely moment, and we want to thank Sean for taking some of the time, the limited time he had with the Stanley Cup, to bring it to …

I've enjoyed Cathy's time on the board and I personally have found her insights, perspective and obvious passion for libraries to be very inspiring. I wanted to have this o …

Thank you. We must prevent problems before they arise. Back in 2022, when this application was first presented, Mayor Quirk and members of Council raised concerns about a subdivision this large with only one unsignalized exit and entrance. At that meeting, they discussed the need to look at this area as a whole, not each proposal as they come up in isolation, but to develop a comprehensive plan. And I couldn't agree more. In 2023, I spoke at Council and suggested a task force with area residents and staff to pro actively address issues from overdevelopment. And in 2024, I met with town executives, Mr. Bilyeu and Steve Lee Young and Mr. Voss to discuss residents' concerns , many concerns actually, but including the road safety and traffic, which is why I'm here now. We can't really rely on developers to ensure safety and quality of life for residents. And based on the developers' traffic study, they're of the opinion that a 78-homeset division with potentially, easily, 156-plus vehicles could safely exit and enter onto a very rewinding and increasingly busy two-lane road. So to refresh everyone's memory in close proximity to this site, we have Fleming Court, a 24-townhouse cul-de-sac, which leads onto the Queensway. 74, the Queensway, is an 18-unit, three-story condo. Or that was 74, pardon me. 17, the Queensway, is a 97-unit York Region building. There's also a 40, the Queensway, which has 15 units. It's a three-story building. And at the corner of the Queensway in Gwendolyn, …

Yeah, okay. I mean, take the procurement memo and put it in. Okay. Testing, one, two, testing. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. your attention, I'd like to call this meeting to order for Wednesday, June 17th. I'd like to have a moment of meditation, and if you can, in your moment of meditation, think of Barbara Sibyl's family. Barbara Sibyl, as we all know, former owner and operator of the Briars Resort, passed away recently on the weekend. We don't have any details of any celebration of life or service, but as we have more information, we will certainly share it , but our condolences to the Sibyl family, Peter, Hugh, Andrew, their spouses, their children. To know Barbara is to know a very classy lady, lady of the manor, certainly would apply to Barb, and we certainly hold the family in our thoughts at this time. Also, tragically, two police officers have been killed in the line of duty, in the last week, an OPP officer, and a Toronto police officer, and in your moment of meditation, please remember those families and friends and fellow officers as they mourn the tragic loss of life in the line of duty. So, please, a moment of meditation. Thank you. Thank you. The town of Georgina recognizes and acknowledges that we are on lands originally used and occupied by the First Peoples of the Williams Treaty's First Nations and other Indigenous peoples, and on behalf of myself and all members of Council, we would like to thank them for sharing this land. Thank you. National Accessibility Thank you. public. We are fully booked, but we will still take walk- ins, and that's happening on-site at the shelter this Saturday from 9 till 3. Great. Did you want to tell us about the volunteer program that's been reactivated? Yes, it has been. So we have rela unched our volunteer program. We're really excited about it. We spent a lot of time reviewing, looking at different platforms, and creating a wonderful training program and really engaging community volunteer program. There's lots of different volunteer positions available. So if you visit georgina.ca, look under animal services, and then look under volunteers, you can see all the information. We are accepting applications now, and we will be reviewing them. I can't wait to get some community members engaging directly on-site at the shelter. Great. Thank you. And I'm sure Tammy will be looking beautiful with her without her bumblebee cone. So I do really like tortoiseshell cats. I have to tell you, I was always fond of them as a kid growing up. We seem to get an inordinate amount of tortoiseshell cats on my parents' farm, but they're great cats, and she looks like she'd be a wonderful addition to somebody's home. And we do have a number of other cats and dogs at the shelter. So by all means, if you're looking to adopt an animal, a pet for your family, please check out the animal shelter website, stop in, do a meet and greet. And I know that Jennifer and her staff are more than happy …

Before we move on to agenda item two, our Secretary-Treas urer has started her maternity leave a bit early, and with hopefully very positive results in the near future . But because of that, we will need to appoint an acting Secretary-Treasurer and Monica is going to fulfill that role for this meeting and perhaps the next meeting. The staff are in the process of hiring a new acting Secretary-Treasurer while Brianna is on holiday. So if I could have a motion to appoint Monica as acting Secretary-Treasurer for the Committee of Adjustme …
