Clean, is that the word to use? I think some just say month. Safe month. No issues. So, our next item under new business is item one, which is the um Finance and Administration Committee Report. So, I can go through my portion if you like. So, we we've uh Jay and Mike and I met county officials to talk about uh realignment of the entrance to Waterfront Park. Um we did our monthly planning meeting with the county and with all our managers. Um we've set up auditors for the 2026 election. Um the county's going to provide that service again. Um been doing some planning work for the LCMA banquet to be held at the Optimist Hall on May 27th. Um I think I've talked a little bit about that before. We're doing kind of a Taste of Point Edward thing. We're going to have as many businesses as we can supply the meal and kind of show off what we have to offer here. Nice. Um we had our clerk's meeting out in uh Where were we? Lambton Shores this time. And most of it was around election preparation stuff …

I know sometimes they come up in the reports, so we might hit on any of those that are necessary to touch on. Um health and safety inspection sheets. I know I looked through those. I didn't see anything that came up for the arena or public works. We can receive and file those. So moved. Okay, um on to new business. Derek, would you like to do the arena monthly report for us, please? Morning, everyone. The arena monthly report for March. Black and McDonald were in to assess the strength of the glycol and refrigeration system and cooling system as we were experiencing higher It's okay, go on. Just believe for a sec. higher than normal operating temperatures. Uh holding tank was topped up with water to dilute strength and system returned to proper operating temperature. While in some preventative maintenance was also performed performed, greasing of compressor motors, testing brine strength, etc. Uh all tempered rink glass has been installed as of March 9th, thanks to Mike and Derek from public works for their assistance. Age friendly Sarnia Lambton submitted the tent equipment to the county Lambton for their upcoming event in May. The permit was approved and issued on March 23rd. …

Good morning. Welcome to the fire committee meeting for April 14th, 2026. We will call the meeting to order. Are there any declaration of pecuniary interests? None known. Thank you. We can circulate the prior meetings minutes. Are there any questions? No. All right, thank you very much. We can move on to the fire hall joint health and safety committee inspection sheets. I didn't have any questions on it. No, they were they were good. They were great. Good job. Not bad. Uh and then we um met can move on to the fire monthly report for March 2026. All righty. So, right now we're sitting at uh 26 volunteers as of basically last night we added an additional three. Um I've got four on there. We haven't actually brought the fourth one on yet, but we are planning to bring the fourth one on. Um training went well for last month. Um so, we get into some of the rope training in the firefighter survival, um which we try to do uh indoors, so we got that stuff knocked out of the way. Um we did rent Lambton College uh for us for a night and uh did some search and rescue out there. We have a plan to do a second uh search and rescue night out there for the members that didn't make it, and then we'll be adding a fire day here before too long before it gets too hot. Call wise, uh little bit slower again last month. Um Community relations, uh we're working with the Bridgeview school um to do their domino challenge through the end of the Good Shepherd. Sandra Laranja - 102 Michigan Ave. - Concerns with Holder's Lane
This agenda item took place after the Planning Item as the delegate had
informed the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) that she was running late
for the meeting.
Sandra Laranja shared her concerns about the twin bridges, particularly
regarding the increased traffic and pollution. She mentioned that this
pollution is leaving a coating on her home and that the amount of salt
being used is causing the concrete to peel. The Chief Administrative
Officer (CAO) will provide Sandra with the contacts for Bluewater Bridge
and will reach out to them to address her concerns.
