By acknowledging this covenant and the First Nations and Métis peoples, we are reminded of our important connection to this land where we live, learn, and work together as a community. >> Thank you, Councillor. Uh we do have three additions to tonight's agenda, and they're all under 9.2, which is specific interest delegations. Good evening everyone and welcome to our committee of the whole meeting for May the 4th of 2026. I'd be looking for a mover and a secondary to call the meeting to order. Moved by councelor Cresman, seconded by councelor Martin. All those in favor? That carries unanimously. We do not have a closed session this evening. Sometimes with land acknowledgements, people make a personal comment, and I'll make a personal comment, and I guess uh, mayor, you can cut me off if you think I'm going on too long, but having traveled in Spain and um, seeing the burial um, location for Christopher Columbus and seeing the um, uh, uh, um, all the attention that is paid to Christopher Columbus, it it gave me I began to look at it and think about this land acknowledgement from a different …
