Council to authorize repurposing of Rescue 627 as a rehab apparatus

The Committee of the Whole will consider several reports, including a fire‑service proposal to retain and convert Rescue 627 into a dedicated rehabilitation unit without requesting capital funds for 2026. The council will also receive a consent agenda item on a tree‑planting project, a traffic and parking by‑law amendment request, an infrastructure asset condition report for sanitary and water systems, and an annual review of the Heritage and Castle Kilbride Advisory Committee.

Council reviews organizational service delivery and infrastructure updates

The Wilmot Council is meeting to discuss a final report on service delivery and organizational review. The body is also considering infrastructure projects including a new fire station and EV charging station, as well as drainage and police camera agreements.

The Council approved all consent‑agenda items, including receiving a report on a Level 3 electric‑vehicle charging station and directing staff to draft a by‑law to approve the station at the Wilmot Recreation Complex. It also adopted the Winter Operations Plan and Minimum Maintenance Standards for township roadways. Additionally, staff were authorized to implement near‑term recommendations of the Service Delivery and Organizational Review using existing resources and to report back in Q2 2026.
