Vulcan County holds public hearing on closing 1.70-acre road allowance for sale
Vulcan County Council is holding a public hearing on Bylaw 2026-022, which proposes to close an unused 1.70-acre road allowance between NW 12-14-25-4 and SW 13-14-25-4 and consolidate it with adjacent county-owned land for sale. The hearing is the opportunity for public input before administration sends a request to the Minister of Transportation and Economic Corridors for approval. Council will hear a public hearing to rezone 15.5 acres to Rural Commercial for an RV storage facility.
The Vulcan County Council will hold a public hearing on Bylaw 2026-021. The bylaw proposes to redesignate approximately 15.50 acres of the parcel NW 34‑18‑26 W4 from Rural General to Rural Commercial. The change would permit development of a recreational vehicle storage facility with associated infrastructure. After public comment, the council will consider second and third readings of the bylaw later in the meeting.

Public Hearing Details
At the regular Vulcan County Council meeting held on June 17th, 2026, first reading of Bylaw
2026-021 was presented for consideration.
The Bylaw proposes to redesignate approximately 15.50-acres of the NW 34-18-26 W4 from
Rural General to Rural Commercial to allow for an application for Development Permit for a
Recreational Vehicle Storage Facility, with a future goal of subdivision of the development area
from the remainder of the parcel.

The Oldman River Regional Services Commission is in receipt of a subdivision endorsement
extension request for a subdivision approval on lands known as Lots 1MR, 5-6 and 10-19, Plan
961 2524 within N½ 25-18-22-W4M – being the purchase and consolidation of a former municipal
reserve corridor by adjacent country residential parcels in the Milo/Lakeview Estates community.
Subdivision approval was originally granted on March 15, 2023. This is the applicant’s second
extension request.
The package is currently being held at land titles awaiting the extension approval.
