Creston Council weighs election bylaw, tennis court sites; public art committee to consider mural grant
Creston Town Council reviewed a proposed election bylaw and the city's 2025 annual financial report during its June 30 meeting, according to the published agenda. Council considered a new Local Government Election and Assent Voting Amendment Bylaw (No. 2059, 2026). The bylaw would update election procedures for the municipality. The agenda also included the 2025 Annual Report and Statement of Financial Information for approval.

Volunteers will paint a second kindness metre under the project. The committee will also consider recommending that council authorize an application for a Columbia River Basin Public Art Program grant to fund a mural on the Armitage Building. Another agenda item is electing to pursue Town Kiosk improvements on a volunteer basis.
This meeting could have implications for public art in Creston. If the committee forwards the grant recommendation to council and council approves, a new mural would be commissioned for the Armitage Building. The kindness metre project would add public art downtown.
