The Committee of the Whole meeting for February 20, 2024, has been cancelled. A Long Range Planning Committee meeting will be held in its place.

Long Range Planning Committee

The Long Range Planning Committee is reviewing a new draft Zoning Bylaw and discussing implementation options for secondary suites. The committee is also reviewing reports on provincial planning legislation and housing needs assessments.

Committee of the Whole

The Committee of the Whole is discussing a grant application for the Community Resiliency Investment Program to fund wildfire preparedness. The proposal includes hiring a temporary full-time FireSmart Coordinator and developing a Community Wildfire Resiliency Program. Other items include a turtle habitat assessment and infrastructure plans for School Road.

Special - Council - Regular

The District of Coldstream is considering the first reading of a five-year financial plan. The proposed budget includes a 9.7% net municipal tax increase driven by factors such as police contracts, inflation, and wage changes. Council will also authorize a public consultation process regarding the plan.
