Council to hear public input on rezoning for 1.1M sq ft logistics centre

East Gwillimbury Council is holding a statutory public meeting to receive comments on a zoning by-law amendment that would rezone 40 hectares at 18574 and 18818 Woodbine Avenue from Rural to Employment General to permit a large-scale advanced logistics and distribution centre. The proposal includes a 110,000 m² facility and about 1,000 jobs. Council will also consider the 2022 water and wastewater budget, award a design contract for Centre Street revitalization, and approve partnering with York Region on road design work.

Special Council

Council to review economic development strategy and IT services plan

East Gwillimbury's Special Council meeting on January 12, 2022, includes receiving a COVID-19 update, two workshop presentations on economic development strategy and IT services delivery, and a closed meeting for personnel matters. Council will also consider appointing members to the Economic Development Advisory Committee and cancelling the January 18 special meeting.
