Corporate Support Committee Meeting

The Corporate Support Committee will consider Report 2024-095 and recommend that County Council approve and adopt the Northumberland County Communications Master Plan at the August 14, 2024 Council meeting. The Committee will also receive several pieces of correspondence from municipalities for information and recommend that County Council receive them. Quarterly financial analyses for Communications, Information Technology, Legal Services and Corporate Services will be presented for information. A Grant Activity Biannual Report will be received for information.

Community Health Committee Meeting

The Community Health Committee is reviewing a proposal for a county-wide physician recruitment plan and a resolution urging the Province of Ontario to address physician shortages. The body is also receiving financial and semi-annual reports for paramedic services and Golden Plough Lodge.

Public Works Committee Meeting

It will also receive a resolution urging federal and provincial investment in small‑rural municipal infrastructure and several correspondences on infrastructure funding for information. Additional items include a Q2 2024 financial analysis and a Northumberland Radio Tower project update.

Regular Council Meeting

The Council will review the 2023 draft financial statements and adopt several new asset management plans. Members are also considering a revised Housing and Homelessness Plan Annual Report. Additionally, a delegation from the Town of Cobourg is scheduled to discuss the impact of homelessness in the community.

Economic Development, Tourism, Land Use Planning

The committee is holding a public meeting to discuss proposed policy changes for long-term growth and land needs in the Northumberland County Official Plan. A recommendation will be made to end the Durham Line pilot project effective August 2, 2024.
