Regular Council

Special Council Meeting
Wetaskiwin City Council held a special meeting on November 12, 2021 to consider a request from Administration to cover a funding shortfall for a trailer encampment. Administration says it has secured trailers to meet a prior Council motion, but the cost is slightly above the amount RDN provided, and it wants Council to approve additional money from the contingency reserve. The dollar amount is left blank in the agenda, and Administration notes a risk that the funds may not be recovered through other orders of government or grants. If approved, Administration will proceed with the lease; if not, it will keep seeking funding.

It will also receive reports on Rainbow Crosswalks and a Winter Emergency Shelter Update, hear a delegation from Virginia Leahman about memorial trees, and recognize Scott Kyba as October 2021 Citizen of the Month.
