Special Council Meeting
Wetaskiwin City Council is holding a special meeting on February 3, 2022 to discuss the Municipally Controlled Corporation and the Wastewater Treatment Plant. Special Council Meeting
Wetaskiwin City Council held a special meeting on January 17, 2022 to consider the future of the homeless encampment at 5800 37A Avenue and the city's role in the 24/7 winter emergency shelter. Administration recommended that Council direct Administration to work with the RCMP to close the encampment, citing safety incidents and ongoing servicing costs. The report also updated Council on the Mustard Seed shelter, which has operated 24/7 since December 20, 2021, and noted the trailer encampment lease expires March 31, 2022 with no direction past that date.
