Thank you. We have a motion to accept the Council agenda. Councillor Trevally, Deputy Mayor Hutchin. All those in favour? Carried. Ask for declaration of pecuniary interest. Hearing none, we'll move along to the Council Minutes. Councillor Trevally, Deputy Mayor Hutchin, that we adopt the July 14th Council Meeting Minutes. All those in favour? That's carried. And that moves us around to business arising from the minutes. And I have a motion on short-term rentals. And I'll take a motion from Councillor Elphick, Councillor Trevally. Whereas short-term accommodations are an economic activity that may provide benefits to property owners, visitors, and local tourism, while also requiring appropriate municipal oversight to address health and safety, servicing land use compatibility and neighbourhood impacts. And whereas Council wishes to better understand potential considerations, requirements and implications associated with establishing a short-term accommodation licensing regime. And whereas Brockton has recently adopted a comprehensive zoning bylaw and any framework should be reviewed for consistency with the applicable zoning permissions, definitions, parking, and land use standards. We are resolved that the Council Municipality Brockton direct staff to prepare a report for Council regarding the potential implementation of a short-term accommodation licensing regime within the municipality. And further, that staff include consideration of, at minimum, a modest licensing fee to …

Yes. Okay. Okay. I'd like to call the June 9th Brockton Council meeting to order, and I'll ask everybody to rise for the National Anthem of Canada. Thank you. minutes. Notice of motion, director of rural caucus, nomination, moved by Councillor McLean, Councillor Clark, that we request a staff report outlining the cost of the municipality for having a city and council member Steve Trevelli appointed as director 2026-2028 to the MO board. I think we already did that, right? The report's here, but we'll just call the question on that. All in favor? Okay. And then that jumps us right to the report on that under reports 9.1. AMO director expenses, Councillor Clark, Councillor Elphick , that we receive report clerk number 10 AMO director expenses prepared by Fiona Hamilton and provides direction whether Brockton will support a member of council seeking election to the board of directors to the Association of Municipalities of Ontario. Discussion? Councillor McLean? Through you, Mayor. I'm not sure procedurally where we are here. I mean, I understand that certainly I brought forth the initial motion and I've seen the report and the report to me is acceptable in terms of financial obligations the municipality would have for endorsing Councillor Trevelli. So I'd like to stand by that original motion made a couple of weeks back to have our council formally endorse Councillor Trevelli and seeking a board spot at the AMO table. Yes, that motion's next. Okay. Councillor Elphick. Oh, we've …

I've got a few little tech problems, so are we ready? Okay, we're on. I'd like to welcome everybody to the May 26th Brockton Council meeting, and I'll ask everybody to rise for the playing of O Canada. Thank you. I'll ask for an acceptance of the Council agenda. Councillor Crawford, Deputy Mayor Hutchin, that we accept the May 26th agenda. All those in favour? That's carried. I'll ask for a Pecanary interest declaration. Hearing none, we'll move along. As I start the meeting, I would just like to continue to acknowledge on behalf of Brockton Council and the Brockton staff that we continue to hold the families at Walkerton District in our prayers. There was a number of low-key commemoration activities on the weekend. As well, the girls' team returned to Dorchester for the slow pitch tournament where they made it to the semifinals. So I'd like to keep them in our prayers, as I'm sure everybody is. And tonight, I'm wearing a pink suit in honour of Walkerton Recreation Department employee, Rowan McLeod. So I remember how much she embraced that colour. Okay. All right. So moving along to the main order of business tonight, we have a public meeting required under the Planning Act. And I'll welcome Alison Bucking, our planner from JL Richards, and she's going to present our draft zoning bylaw . Welcome to the meeting, Ms. Bucking. Sorry about that. Didn't press the on button. Good evening, members of council, members of staff, and members of the public. My name is Alison Bucking. I' …

I'd like to welcome everybody to the March 24th Brockton Council meeting, and I'll ask everybody to rise for O Canada. Thank you. bylaw applications at 2026 number eight so we'll welcome our senior planner miss morrison to the meeting thank you very much mayor peabody and good evening council and members of the public in attendance uh this is a public meeting for a zoning bylaw amendment the purpose of the application is to facilitate pardon me to facilitate a related consent um the consent would sever 0.78 hectares of land as a surplus farm dwelling lot from a 20 hectare property if approved this zoning bylaw will result in the severed lands being rezoned to permit a non-farm lot and the retained lands would be recognized as prohibiting the establishment of a new residential use and further a holding provision will be used to recognize areas of high archaeological potential by using the holding zone that will allow this application to proceed without the requirement for an archaeological assessment upfront. In reviewing this application, consideration was given to the policies of the Bruce County Official Plan that pertain to surplus farm residence severances. And surplus farm residence severances are generally considered to be a benefit to the agriculture area and to the farming system because it allows the owner of the lands to be able to part with a property of a home that they no longer require for and is surplus to the needs of their farming operation. There are a numbe …

All those in favor, let's carry acceptance of our previous minutes. Deputy Mayor, Councillor Crawford, minutes from September 23rd, 2025 be accepted. All those in favor, let's carry. Okay, I'd like to welcome our senior planner Monica Morrison to the meeting to present the application A2026-6. Thank you, Mayor Peabody. So as the mayor has mentioned, this is an application for minor variants. Subject to, oops, sorry, I have the wrong, oops, one more chance here. Subject to a review of any comments arising at today's public meeting. These are the submissions of the Bruce County Planning Department. This application proposes a minor variance to permit an exterior side yard reduction of five meters where nine meters is required. If approved, this will facilitate the construction of a new industrial storage building in Walkerton. The proposed reduction in the exterior side yard setback has been evaluated in the context of the site's physical characteristics surrounding road network and applicable land use compatibility guidelines. Based on this assessment, the requested variance is minor and will not generate adverse effects on the surrounding area. In reviewing this application consideration was given to the four tests of a minor variance under the Planning Act. Those are does the variance maintain the intent and purpose of the official plan. This property is designated business park two in the Walk erton Community Official Plan. The goal of this designation is to accommodate the …
