Thank you. further traffic calming projects. Finally, I hope this becomes the beginning of a broader citywide traffic calming strategy so that neighborhoods not eligible for this provincial funding are also considered in the future. Next slide, please. So before I conclude, I would appreciate clarification on a few questions. If the city receives less provincial funding than requested, what criteria will staff use to determine which projects move forward first? And the second one is, will council receive a public report showing before and after traffic speeds and safety outcomes once the reports are completed? If traffic calming measures are not as effective as expected, will staff have the flexibility to modify them? Will council receive progress updates before the March 2028 completion deadline? Has the city identified future funding opportunities for roads that are not eligible under this program? But where residents continue to experience speeding concerns? Next slide, please. Okay. So that's all I have to present today. Thank you to the engineering staffs and council. I respectfully ask the council team to consider my recommendations to make our roads safer for everyone. And thank you for your time. Thank you. Questions to the delegate? Thank you for your presentation today and your interest in road safety. I'm going to move to consideration. It's moved by Councillor Brenner and second by Councillor Nagy. The recommendation of the director of engineering services in rega …

Thank you. design of the facility. This isn't the construction work. And so we do have quite specific provisions within that contract document, which would protect the city from, you know, negligence or those kinds of things, issues that happen up through the design process. So yes, we absolutely do due diligence in that. And also some due diligence is done through the procurement process as well to ensure we've selected a competent contractor who 's able to carry out this work. Okay. So just to be clear, then if the consultant was to say that we would use a certain type of material, and if that turned out not to be very viable for this project and the, when designing it, they went ahead and they use that material, who would be on the hook? Would it be the consultant? I don't know. Is there anything? I think if there was sort of a legal issue, I don't know, I don't know if the city solicitor would be able to speak to that. I mean, it would kind of depend on a case by case basis of what the issue was and the circumstance. But typically with the design, the process for the design is quite iterative and includes a lot of staff input. And this process, as we noted in the report, will also include some public engagement. And so we work closely with the design consultant to ensure that what they're proposing is practical and will work for the city and follows our things like our corporate energy management plan, you know, makes good use of funds, those kinds of things. So I don't k …

Thank you. At this point, Thank you. Yes. Thank you. I don't know if bylaws talked to them or if theirs was done legally. That might have been good to look into. But regardless, this is what we have in front of us now. Those are just my observations on this one. It's not as straightforward and simple as it originally looked once I visited the site. All right. Thank you, Ms. Rundle. I think, Ms. Joshi, you had your hand up as well. Yes, Mr. Chair, I would just like to echo the comments made by Denise. Because, yes, we can visually see it is violent. But it is done in a very tricky manner that you may call it a driveway or you may call it a pathway. There's that gray area, an actual gray area there. But I would also, my second comment is there is, I would just like to mention that we do have a letter of opposition on this application. And I would just like to remind committee to review the comments made in that letter as well for their consideration. All right. Thank you, Ms. Sujoshi. Any further comments? Mr. Havretti. Mr. Chair, brief comment in regards to the letter that I did review. I think one of the primary objections in that letter was around drainage, given that, here we go, so massive, this massive layout of asphalt will prevent natural water infilt ration, creating an immediate drainage and flooding risk for my adjacent property. Based on the report that we have from the city, the findings don't seem to flag that as the same kind of concern. And so, as much as I thin …

Thank you. entrance, which is the main entrance, which you see. So there's the, it has a kind of a, a kind of an old school setup to it in terms of how the layout is. And then on the interior, the interior, as I kind of showed in one of the photos, hasn't been changed really since the building was constructed. And this is one of the nice features of it, but we're at a point now, and this is one of the problems with this, with this space is that the congregation wants to continue to use it for, for regular get togethers. So they do sing songs, they have events there, but the building is falling into a state of repair or dis repair, primarily because the lath and plaster that's on the walls is over 150 years old, and it's beginning to fail. So the church looked at getting a replacement for all the lath and plaster and just, you know, fixing the, replacing the whole thing. The budget came back. It was insane. Like this is a very, very, very small congregation and they just didn't have the budget to do what, what was cut, the quotes that were coming back. So what they tried to do is keep some of the original material, which is going to be on the ceiling. So they're going to repair the ceiling elements. And what they're asking to do is to change out what their existing wall is, which is the, the l ath and plaster with a, a shiplap finish. And the shiplap finish is actually used elsewhere in the, in the building. You can kind of see it a little bit at the bottom of image two on pag …

Thank you. to widen Highway 7 from two lanes to four lanes from Rieser Road to about Brock Road. That would be Markham to Pickering. And the total length of the study is about 10 kilometers. And that widening is going to tie into the existing four- lane sections of Highway 7 on either side of the study area and also connect with a couple of four-lane sections that have been designed at intersections within the study area. The widening will ultimately support traffic growth and planned development, such as the Pickering Innovation Corridor. And without any widening, the Highway 7 traffic demand will grow well beyond the highway's capacity to handle it. And the scope of work for us includes replacing the Little Rouge Creek Bridge in Locust Hill, widening of the West Duffins Creek Bridge in Green River, and we are considering a grade separation at the CPKC crossing in Locust Hill. And to this point, we have developed a long list of alternatives, and we have screened that down to a short list of alternatives, which is what we presented at our Public Information Center last month. And you can see there's a link to the project website that has all of that Public Information Center material and some other information about the project. If we could go to the next slide, please. So this is our study process. I'm not going to spend a lot of time on it, but we started off in the fall of 2025 to evaluate the planning alternatives. Since then, we've identified the long list of alternative …

Thank you. application meets the four tests of the Planning Act, and should the committee find merit, they recommend one condition be considered. I will note that committee members have read the staff report including recommendations and conditions, and will consider all public and agency comments in reaching a decision. Okay, so do we have Kyle Falvo and Jordan Falvo with this evening? It's just Kyle Falvo. I'll be here. I have a little speech. Great, welcome Mr. Falvo. I will pass it off to you if you want to just address the committee with anything that may assist us this evening. Okay, perfect. Thanks. So good morning and thank you Chair and Committee members. We believe the requested variances are minor in nature and appropriate for the property. The lot coverage increase is modest and the rear deck is uncovered with transparent glass railings to reduce visual and privacy impacts. Both Unit 3 and 4 decks face west. The design has been carefully considered and the proposal has already been recommended approval by TRCA with no outstanding concerns. We believe the application maintains the intent of the Zoning Bylaw and Official Plan and represents appropriate development for the site. That's all. Thank you. Thank you Mr. Falvo. I'll pass it off to my colleagues for any questions for the applicant. Thank you. Thank you. Sorry Mr. van. I was looking at it. Go ahead. No problem. I'm just wondering if any of the neighbors have had any input. Are they on board with it? Any disc …

Thank you. And this is the area. development, there's very minimal stormwater management controls throughout. So that means that most water within these watersheds drains into French man's Bay without any water quality treatment and no flood management or erosion mitigation. So there was a previous stormwater management master plan completed in 2009. So we're getting on close to 20 years ago at this point. So this previous master plan identified issues related to flooding, erosion, water quality, aquatic habitat, and terrestrial habitat, and developed an implementation plan which had both a five-year and a 20-year implementation period. So as I mentioned, we are starting to get to the end of that 20-year implementation period and want to start looking towards next steps. So over the last 15-20 years, the city has been implementing the recommended works from that project, including source conveyance, as well as end of pipe controls. But this update is needed because there still are ongoing issues. Water quality within Frenchman's Bay continues to be relatively poor. And so we want to look to see what additional opportunities there might be for improving stormwater management throughout the watershed. The funding that was allocated for that implementation plan, because we're getting to the end of those 20 years, that funding is starting to run out. And so we need to start looking again at what new funding opportunities there might be. There have been changes since 2009, both in …

Thank you. that has led us to the preferred concept design for City Centre Park is Jeanne Ng. She's a partner at MacLennan-Johnkins-Miller Architects or MJMA and that is a multidisciplinary firm and led by Jeanne and her team of staff and sub consultants that were retained back in October 24. They've been working with the City staff, been working with the public through various engagement opportunities and with members of Council to get valued input and feedback and that has been used to to guide and provide direction in developing a preferred concept design. So I'll now turn it over to Jeanne for her presentation. Thank you Mr. Holborn for this and thank you Council members and Mayor Ash for this opportunity to present the work we've been doing since last summer when we presented three strategies for the potential of the Pick ering City Centre Park. Next please. So when we started this project we were given a lot of background information that the City had already completed prior to having us on the team or on on the project where we were given very very clear direction about the aspirations for this park as well as what the community was hoping for and the kind of experience they wanted. So what we wanted to do was rather than design three different parks, we wanted to test the potential of the different kinds of experiences that this park could have so that we would be given a very clear direction from community staff as well as Council about what the actual design would b …

Thank you. our golden jubilee last year with a very well-attended anniversary open house show and sale. It was gratifying to meet so many families and supporters of the arts in our Pickering community. However, it was a bittersweet event, as we didn't yet have a new home and feared disbandment when the Greenwood Community Center is closed this June. The studio space that we occupy now was built as an addition onto the Greenwood Community Center using funding we secured from a federal New Horizons grant.
