Denbigh roof replacement contract on Addington Highlands council agenda
The Addington Highlands council will meet July 7 to consider several contract awards and policy endorsements, including a $228,450 roof replacement for the Denbigh building and renovations at the Northbrook Medical Centre to accommodate a new physician.
Council to decide on contracts, medical centre upgrades
The regular council meeting is set for July 7. The agenda includes a recommendation to award RFP 2026-03 for the Denbigh roof replacement to Bel-Con Design Builders Ltd for $228,450.02. Council will also consider approving a lease for a Northbrook tractor backhoe from Terapro for the remainder of 2026, with an intent to purchase in 2027.
Another key item is a proposed $18,219.32 in minor renovations at the Northbrook Medical Centre, to be funded from the Capital Medical Centre Reserve. The work is intended to make space for a new physician.
Council will also vote on two resolutions: one calling for a $100 million Northern Ontario Policing Grant, and another requesting a provincial review of CVA-based apportionment for shared services. Both resolutions are part of ongoing municipal advocacy on provincial funding and assessment formulas.
Library Board reviewed May activity
The Addington Highlands Public Library Board met June 25 to review monthly activity and circulation statistics for the Denbigh and Flinton branches. The agenda included reports from the CEO and Treasurer, correspondence from the Flinton Recreation Club regarding a historic wagon tour, and a review of e-resource usage including Overdrive and Ancestry Library edition. No decisions were recorded; minutes have not yet been published.
