Caledon Council redirects speed enforcement funds to traffic calming, eyes new senior centre model

Council shifts $ to traffic calming

Caledon Council approved transferring uncommitted Automated Speed Enforcement funds to the traffic calming budget at its June 23 meeting. The move redirects dollars originally set aside for speed cameras toward physical road-safety improvements. No dollar amount was specified in the official minutes.

The Council also directed staff to explore a municipal service board model for the Caledon Seniors Centre, a step toward a new governance partnership. A notice of intention to designate 14782 Heart Lake Road under the Ontario Heritage Act was withdrawn after a fire at the property.
