Lantzville council to consider Aspengrove School rezoning, Dickinson Road borrowing
Lantzville council will take up several consequential items at its July 8 regular meeting, including final approval of a zoning change for Aspengrove School and a borrowing bylaw to rehabilitate Dickinson Road. No decisions were reported from two recent council meetings, whose minutes have not yet been published.
Recent meetings: Agendas only, no decisions recorded
A special council meeting on June 23 was entirely procedural, with council set to close the public portion to discuss confidential negotiations on a proposed municipal service and matters involving a First Nation or Indigenous entity. No votes were taken in open session.
At the June 24 regular council meeting, the agenda included first, second, and third readings of a zoning bylaw amendment for 7660 Clark Drive — the property tied to Aspengrove School — as well as a development variance permit for a retaining wall at 7415 Copley Ridge Drive, a form and character development permit for 7356 Lynn Drive and 7052 Peterson Road, amendments to water conservation stages, and approval of the 2025 Statement of Financial Information and Annual Municipal Report. Minutes from that meeting have not been published, so outcomes are not yet known.
July 8 regular council: Borrowing, rezoning, permits
The July 8 council meeting (7 p.m., municipal hall) includes several items that could affect the district's infrastructure and development.
Council will consider first three readings of a borrowing bylaw to fund rehabilitation of Dickinson Road. The amount to be borrowed was not specified in the published agenda.
Also up for adoption is the zoning amendment for 7660 Clark Drive (Aspengrove School rezoning), which had first three readings at the June 24 meeting. A development permit for 7100 Sabrina Place (file DP26-10) will be presented.
Other business includes a correction to the water conservation levels bylaw (Bylaw 432), amendments to property tax exemptions, housekeeping changes to the tree protection bylaw, and a tender award for culvert replacements on Algers, Lantzville, and Dickinson roads.
