Council to approve response to IAAC on nuclear waste repository plan
Council will consider a resolution to approve a commentary document drafted by Hardy Stevenson and Associates regarding the Deep Geological Repository (DGR) for Canada's used nuclear fuel. The document will be submitted to the Impact Assessment Agency of Canada (IAAC) before the February 4, 2026 deadline. Ignace is the host community for the proposed repository approximately 40 km west of town.
