At the Town of New Tecumseth, we acknowledge that we are on the
treaty lands and traditional territory of the Anishinaabe peoples.
Specifically, the Ojibwe/Chippewa, Odawa, and Pottawatomi peoples,
collectively known as the Three Fires Confederacy. This land is now
home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples. New
Tecumseth is covered by the Lake Simcoe-Nottawasaga Treaty No. 18
signed on October 17, 1818 with the Chippewa Nation. We acknowledge

1 Land Acknowledgement Statement
At the Town of New Tecumseth, we acknowledge that we are on the
treaty lands and traditional territory of the Anishinaabe peoples.
Specifically, the Ojibwe/Chippewa, Odawa, and Pottawatomi peoples,
collectively known as the Three Fires Confederacy. This land is now
home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples. New
Tecumseth is covered by the Lake Simcoe-Nottawasaga Treaty No. 18
signed on October 17, 1818 with the Chippewa Nation. We
acknowledge that we are all treaty people and accept our responsibility
to honour all our relations and move forward in the spirit of
reconciliation and respect

Council approves $2.99 million development‑charge funding for two water projects
The Council adopted the March 23 meeting minutes and received several reports. It approved $1,495,000 in development‑charge funding for each of two engineering design projects – the Industrial Parkway Sanitary Pumping Station upgrades and the Parsons Road to Industrial Parkway trunk watermain.
