Thank you. that may be considered on today's agenda. Seeing none, the clerk will so note for the meeting minutes. Agenda item four, previous minutes. Our next item is item 4.1 minutes, active transportation advisory committee, June 9th, 2026. The minutes were considered by planning and development committee on June 15th, 2026, and were approved by council on July 8th, 2026. The minutes are provided for committee's information only. Thank you. We can't hear you. Thank you. I never have a muzzle during that never been an issue. But if that's what you know they want for public safety, I have no issue with that. OK, thank you. And you vaccinated your dog, it seems right. Yeah, OK, thank you. I have no further questions. So now it's your turn for the closing submission. Get down with it. Yeah, I think through you, Mr. Chair, to the members of the committee, it appears that Mr. Dada is basically in agreement with the controls that the city of the laid out is an issue with the needle and. You know, microchipping the dog and some sort of sedative, which I would argue is not a valid concern. So I think the committee should affirm the order because basically Mr. Dada is essentially agreeing with it beyond a couple of caveats. And I think the committee should be able to do that. So, like I said, you know, I'm regretful that this happened . Measures have been taken to make sure none of this happens again. The microchip is unnecessary. You know, that's an opinion base. You can have your opinion on it. I can have my opinion on it. And at the end of the day, I feel like it's unnecessary where I already have other measures that outweigh the benefits of the microchip. And they're not invasive at all. So, yeah, that's where I'm at. Other than that, I have no problem muscling Phoebe when I'm out for a walk or a hike. Because other than that, he's just on the property the whole time. Okay. Thank you. Thank you, everyone. T …

Any committee members have any comments or questions to the staff pertaining report? Ms. Kathleen, please go ahead. Yes, thank you. Through you, Chair. Just in terms of, just for a point of clarity on this, item number four in the staff report says a period of three years, but then point five says a period of five years. I know the variance is asking for five years. It's just, I don't know if that's going to create any issues. So I just wanted clarity on that. Thank you. Thro …

Thank you. application, the authorized agent is in agreement with the indefinite deferral request. Any committee members have any questions to this deferral request? Mr Jy otwinder Sodhi, please go ahead. Through your chair, we would like to know more from the staff. There is a reason for deferral, indefinite deferral. Normally it's time-bound deferral. Is there any valid reasons behind it or some kind of if enlightened? Please thank you. Thank you . Through you the chair, thanks for the question. The reason for the indefinite deferral in this case, and I do acknowledge that it is a little bit unusual, there are region appeal works that will relate to some expropriation that occurs on this property and until that is determined and the extent of the expropriation is determined, which is an unknown period of time, we would recommend deferral and at that point once the details are known, the applicant can come back and revise their application accordingly. And in the background, staff and the applicant have been going through some discussions as well as it relates to this proposal. So we're all in agreement at this stage and we're recommending indefinite deferral. Thank you. Sure. Thank you very much for clarifying. That will kind of open up the reasons behind it. Otherwise, sometimes gray area, don 't know. Thank you. Is there any enforcement action going on with this property right now? Thank you. Through you, Mr. Chair, we have the Authorized Agent Matt Campbell present. Thro …

Testing audio, check one, two. Thank you. whether it is a motor vehicle or a bicycle or a scooter, will be safe and secure. And so in the active transportation sphere, we have particular problems on this side. Bikes are easy target for theft, vandalism, and damage. Regular manual power bicycles currently range in cost of, you know, kind of a minimum $400 and ranging up to $1,000 or more. And e-bikes or power-assisted bikes, you're lucky if you can find one for $800 or they range up closer to $3,000. And to state the obvious, that's a lot of cash to leave un protected in an open space while you're not present. So if we want to shift transportation from automobiles to active transportation, this is a critical area for investigation. The best return on investment for improved bike parking infrastructure are magnet locations, places that generate a lot of trips and could benefit from better facilities. Obvious examples here are transit hubs, like say a GO station, schools, many of which have already very strong bike infrastructure or active transportation infrastructure, and commercial hubs, which is kind of a weak point in this area of discussion. Next slide, please. So as an example, I went to some areas in my community, in things around my neighborhood, and I wanted to just highlight them as an example. So this is the Fortinos at Beauverde in Huron, Ontario. So I live very close to this location. It's my kind of weekly grocery store. And I was excited when I moved into this ne …

Thank you. any unusual or fraudulent transactions or any items that should be reported to you in terms of significant control deficiencies. There were no corrected or uncorrected audit misstatements identified this year for the main city or the smaller entities which is really good. So we will be issuing a clean audit opinion this year pending council approval of course. There were no new accounting or auditing standards that came into effect this year. So it was a little bit of a normal year for finance and for audit team. There are some new accounting standards that are coming down the pipeline that we've attached them in the appendices. One of them is going to be a heavy lift which is the employee future benefit standard. We can talk about that in a future meeting. On page six we've noted the remaining items at this stage. So the first couple items are done. If you go back one slide. The only item that is pending at this point are standard items that should be pending. So that would be your council approval, signing of the management representation letter, and the the inquiry related to subsequent events which has to be done all the way to the date of our opinion. Moving on to page six here we're covering our presumed risk of fraud from management override of control. So this is not specific to City of Brampton. It is a risk that is required to be included in all audit engagements. And that's because management is in a unique position to be able to perpetrate fraud by over …
