Committee of Adjustment - Panel 1
Committee reviews residential variance applications on Melbourne and de l'Église
Panel 1 of the Ottawa Committee of Adjustment will hear five consent and minor variance applications. The applications seek subdivisions, increased building heights, and new residential buildings on properties at 472 Melbourne, 680 and 682 de l'Église, 961 Beaudry, and 516 Kenwood. Each request involves changes to lot dimensions, setbacks, or building footprints. The panel will consider the proposals and any public input.
- 472 Melbourne (Ward 15) – subdivide into two parcels and construct two detached dwellings with increased heights, deeper building footprints, larger deck projections and reduced side and front yard setbacks.
- 680 de l'Église (Ward 12) – convey a portion to the southern neighbor and build an 8‑unit residential building with reduced lot width, area, landscaped area, front‑façade recession, front‑yard waste storage and a rear main entrance.
- 682 de l'Église (Ward 12) – split the property into two lots for two 12‑unit residential buildings, increasing unit count, reducing front‑façade recession, allowing front‑yard waste storage and rear entrances.
- 961 Beaudry (Ward 13) – subdivide the property into two parcels to establish separate ownership of each half of the existing semi‑detached dwelling.
- 516 Kenwood (Ward 15) – sever the property into two lots and permit increased building heights and wider walkways for two detached dwellings.

Thank you. We'll start in one minute. Thank you. Merci. Thank you. Thank you. Merci. Please remain standing. And I will ask Councillor Cavanagh to introduce the performer of our national anthem this morning. Thank you, Mr. Mayor. It's my pleasure to introduce an Ottawa-born talent who is a pop and gospel singer Shauna Holder. Shauna's deep connection to the national anthem began in early childhood under challenging circumstances. At four years old, she experienced systematic exclusion when her kindergarten teacher kept her outside the classroom during the morning anthem. Demonstrating remarkable resilience, she used that time on the bench to teach herself the national anthem by listening to the speakers from afar. Today, Sha una proudly wears red and white as she finds healing and pride in the anthem, representing her country loud and proud as a proud Canadian. She has performed at numerous high-profile events including Ottawa's Martin Luther King Day and a commemorative hockey game where she was escorted onto the ice by Ron McClain. Sustained by her faith, her ultimate dreams are to perform the anthem at Parliament Hill for Canada Day and at Ottawa Senators' opening game. Maybe the charge game too. I think that would be a good idea. You can also hear her original tracks on SoundCloud under the name Rainbow Star. Shauna wishes to extend her sincere thanks to City Council for this opportunity and I'd like to welcome Shauna as she performs her a cappella rendition of the nation …
