Auto-transcribed from the official meeting video (speech-to-text — may contain errors).

I'm really happy to announce, if you haven't heard about it already, that "Maud of Leavesdale," starring Jennifer Carroll, is coming back for three shows, happening Thursday, August 20th at 7:00 p.m., Saturday, August 22nd at 3:00 p.m., and Sunday, the 23rd at 3:00 p.m. at the Historically Still Church. And so if you want to experience the life of Lucy Maud during her first 15 years in Ontario, where she actuall …

Okay. Good morning. Good afternoon. I'm used to morning. Good afternoon, everyone. I'm going to call this council meeting to order. I'd also like to acknowledge that we are not the first people to live, work, and plan these lands. So please join me in thanking the Indigenous peoples for their stewardship of the traditional and treaty lands that we now enjoy alongside them. All right. Are there any disclosures of interest? Seeing and hearing none. I don't think we have any addendums. So we will jump right to announcements, I think, starting with Bruce. Well, thank you, Meredith. These are a little bit dated since I wasn't able to join last week's council meeting. June 7th, we had the hike for hospice over with our friends in Scugog. It was fun. I walked with regional councillor Ian McDougall, and he's lived there his entire life. So I got a personal tour of areas of Scugog I had never seen before. So it was really good. There was 422 hikers and $186,000 was raised. So really well done. They need that funding to continue the great service that they provide. And they make it very clear it's not a Scugog service. It's a Durham service and beyond. But a remarkable event for a service that is wonderful that we have available to us. And then last week, I did the run for the diamond. Sort of. The hills have gotten much along Brookdale Road every year. They definitely get steeper. They're getting a little tough. But Michelle Baker is the one we need to be really thankful for. She put …

Good morning everyone. I'm going to call this meeting to order. Are there any disclosures of interest? All right. Let's go with announcements starting with Zed. Yes. Good morning everyone. Really busy weekend. So I'm sure we'll touch on a few different common themes today. But I did want to go back to two weeks ago when we had our Trail Discovery Day. So to start off, thank you to the many exhibitors and volunteers who worked to make the Trail Discovery Day such a success. Super lovely to see so many of our service groups out and the people that are really connecting to lift heavier weight than they maybe can do as individuals. So really cool to see. Special thank you to Lee and John Fisher, the TransCanada Trail and Zeres for the sponsorships, donations, all of which made the event happen. And we also want to take an opportunity to thank those organizers and volunteers and the riders who also took part in the tribute ride for Steve Snodden. To transition a little bit in recognition of Steve Snodden, we also saw the planting of the mini forest, which is over by Elgin Park. Saw many of you there. I'm sure that you'd like to make a comment as well. And then Springtide was such a success this weekend. So lovely to see the community out to celebrate the arts. That's my announcements after a very busy weekend. Yeah. Thank you. Good morning, everyone. I just want to say a little bit more about the Trail Discovery Day. I was at the booth for Age Friendly, and it was wonderful seeing …
